Marine Corps JROTC in collaboration with many educational partners is striving to provide cadets with extracurricular activities that prepare them for post secondary opportunities in Computer Science, Cyber Security and STEM fields.
Professional Certification
Cadets selected to attend this year’s Cyber STEM Camp will have the opportunity to earn a professionally recognized certificate in information technology. At the conclusion of the camp Cadets will sit for an examination for the CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF+) certificate.
College Credit
In Collaboration with Norwich University & Iowa Lakes Community College, Cadets who complete Cyber STEM Camp and master the CompTIA IT fundamentals exam will be awarded college credit for CS100 Foundation of Computer Science
Cadets who excel in the Cyber STEM Camp could earn the opportunity to attend the MCJROTC Cyber Academy at Norwich University. This two week Academy will focus on certification for the CompTIA A+ (A Plus). A+ is an entry-level computer certification for PC computer service technicians. The exam is designed to certify the competency of entry-level PC computer service professionals in installing, maintaining, customizing, and operating personal computers. This opportunity is provided at no cost by Marine Corps JROTC in collaboration with Norwich University.
Cadets selected to attend this year’s Marine Corps JROTC STEM Innovation Center’s Innovation Camp will be given the opportunity to explore the most exciting emerging technologies found today.. Drones, Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality , Virtual Reality & Natural Language Processing are but a few of the technologies that will be explored this summer.
